WHAT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE TO ORDER MY GLASSES?
All you need is a copy of your prescription which is less than 2 years old.
ARE MY GLASSES GOING TO BE MADE TO THE SAME STANDARD AS GLASSES FROM MY REGULAR OPTICIAN?
Yes. Our lab is MHRA registered, all of our lenses conform to BS 2738 and all of our frames carry the CE mark. Exactly the same as your regular Opticians.
WHY ARE YOUR PRICES SO LOW?
We do not have to pay for the ever more expensive premises of our High Street competitors.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY GLASSES?
We aim to deliver your glasses within 7-14 days. Although in exceptional circumstances it may take up to 30 days.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY GLASSES DON’T FIT CORRECTLY?
It may be that your new glasses need a minor adjustment, most Optical Stores will happily do this free of charge and it should only take a few minutes.
CAN I TRY THE FRAMES I LIKE BEFORE COMMITTING TO HAVE THEM?
Yes. Just select ‘Purchase Frame Only’ once you have clicked on the frame of your choice. You will have to pay for the frame but if you don’t like it then simply send it back to us for a full refund of the frame price (as long as the frame is returned in the same condition it was dispatched in and within 28 days).
CAN I GET FRAMES WITH NON-PRESCRIPTION LENSES IN?
Yes. Simply select 0.00 as your prescription in both eyes.
DO YOU SUPPLY TRANSITION/PHOTOCHROMIC LENSES?
Yes. They are available in brown or grey. They are available in standard thickness, thinned down, bifocal and thinned down bifocal.
CAN YOU MAKE MY LENSES THINNER?
Yes. We can supply high index lenses in both single vision and bifocal. We offer different levels of thinning. With high index lenses the higher the number the thinner the lens. We offer 1.60 (Thin), 1.67 (Thinner) and 1.74 (Thinnest).
CAN YOU SUPPLY BIFOCALS?
Yes. The bifocal we use has a D shaped segment which measures 28mm wide. These lenses are automatically positioned 3mm below the centre of the lens. If you would prefer to ensure the segment is in exactly the correct position then select ‘Purchase Frame Only’ and we will post you the frame. When you receive it, get a friend to stand eye level with you, and take a photo of you wearing the frame (try to get just your face and neck into the picture). Post the frame, photo and completed order form back to us and we will glaze the glasses for you. Please note there will only be one delivery charge applied to your order.
CAN YOU SUPPLY VARIFOCAL LENSES?
No. Unfortunately we do not currently supply Varifocals.
WHAT IS MY P.D. AND AM I ABLE TO MEASURE IT?
This is the distance between the centres of your pupils. Your Optician may provide you with this measurement, but if they do not, we can use a standard average measurement or you can measure it yourself with the help of a friend, as follows:
Get your friend to stand eye level with you. You need to look at the top of their nose while he/she uses a standard ruler to measure the distance from the centre of one pupil to the centre of the other. This measurement is always quoted in millimetres (mm).
